Around 9 Death and Several Missing due to heavy rain and flood in Swat
Pakistan is witnessing global warming and climate change. First it was predicted that Pakistan would not have longer rainfall seasons; however, now the opposite is being said. It is reported there was a major loss in Punjab during rain on 26th June 2025. It is also reported that this year the rainy season will now be longer than expected, and it could last till October this year. Moreover, the government of Pakistan and the provincial government should be prepared for any disaster or emergency situation from now on.
It is reported by Geo News that around 9 people of the same family drowned in the water in the Swat River due to the sudden surge in the water. It is reported that at least 9 people have died outside of an 18-member family today. The government of KPK is doing its best in this regard, and rescue operations are underway for the family members. Rescue 1122 is active in the area, and so far they have successfully rescued a total of 3 members.
Now it is expected that the surge in the Swat River was due to rainfall, and it is expected that it will surge more this year due to global warming and climate change. What the government can do is build more dams to store water, and they must have an emergency plan according to it. It is expected that the KPK government will successfully find 6 more members of the family.
