Journalists Protest PECA Law: Calls for Immediate Withdrawal

Since yesterday, journalists all across Pakistan have been registering their protests and demanding to withdraw the PECA law as soon as possible.

Many people claim that the PECA law will hamper their freedom of speech, and the government or their opponents could take advantage of this law.

They say that there are many issues regarding current PECA law because there has been no proper debate, and no stakeholders have been taken into confidence regarding this bill.

Journalists all across Pakistan say that this will hamper freedom of speech rights, and it will be misused to control the media.

President Asif Ali assured JUIF chief that he was not in a hurry to sign the bill, and he would first get suggestions from all stakeholders.
