WhatsApp Voice Calls and Video Calls Return to Saudi Arabia

 

 

Saudi Arabia has made many reforms in different sectors, especially liberalizing its economy so that it can attract foreign investment. Saudi Arabia recently, and it was sudden that they have reactivated WhatsApp features, where now they are able to voice calls and video calls after 6 years of deactivation of this feature in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia allowed voice calls and video calls through WhatsApp from 2015 to 2018. However, they blocked it, and WhatsApp users were only allowed to chat via message through WhatsApp, and it was blocked in 2019 due to regulatory policies.

Experts of technology in Saudi Arabia describe this move as positive, and it is an effort by Saudi Arabia to enhance their telecommunication infrastructure.
